Love Poem: Friends

Friends

As life takes us down its many streets,
In search of strangers we are destined to meet.

Some will light up a special place in our heart,
With a flame that never flickers even when we part.

Time nor distance can never extinquish the flame,
True friendship can’t be bought or played like some children’s game.

Some you make while you are young of age,
Still others just shoot to the top of the page.

When two hearts and two minds seem to share the same thought,
Then something is there that can never be bought.

Cherish your friends like the diamonds they are,
Their brilliance and love will outshine any star.

And hold them so close when they are quite near,
And keep their fire burning so they don’t disappear.

Friendships are gifts from our God up above,
His way of showing this gift we call love.

A friend will scold you when you do wrong,
But will also help you when you need help getting along.

My friends are like treasures I cherish so much,
These gifts from heaven each with their own special touch.
