You have loved me, always, as you did throughout our spring- so lush and green- when nothing was too hard for us to keep our love alive and new. All through the summer of our life, as children blessed our married years, and tending to them became first- you did still love me always- as you did. When autumn years then came around- an empty nest made us adjust. More time alone- but missed them too. You did still love me always- as you did. And you still love me, always, as you do, now that our winter years arrived. More aches and pains and slower pace- yet still a thrill in holding hands. Would you still love me, always, as you did- when winter fades and can't go on- be by my side until the end? I know you will- till now- you have.
