Love Poem: Fragments

Fragments

I love learning about you,
bit by bit
You’re a beautiful mystery,
who challenges me
to see
how do the pieces fit
Meeting you has shattered
all my preconceived notions
and generic expectations
The fragments you scattered in my mind,
presents a humbling job
trying to find and gather them all
I love finding out more
details
of who you were,
are
and will be
You’re my favorite
bit-by-bit romantic mystery
Every broken heart
leaves fragments of the pain
Every healed heart
has a beautiful, puzzle outline
of how it was put back together again
I’m fascinated by your
patience with me
Allowing me to grow
bit by bit,
into the person you believe
I should be
Your love has made me whole,
your compassion has helped
save a lost soul
If all that I could ever have of you
is fragments ...
Only bits and pieces,
small parts of you
Then I would relish every morsel,
and wait for the next dropped
intimate piece I never knew
