Love Poem: Fourteenth Day of February

Fourteenth Day of February

Stung by the love bug
and shot with Cupid’s arrow
Here we sit intertwined, so comfy and snug
On a bed that’s so narrow

It’s the day of red and white
I’d like to give you chocolate and roses
Wouldn’t that be such a delight?
But since I can’t, your friends laugh and turn up their noses

I may not be rich
But I’ve never left you wanting
and surely you I’ll never ditch
So in these next few lines, I need to ask you something that may be daunting

As I go down on one knee, my feelings I can no longer mask
The perfect lady you are for me
So there’s nothing more I can really ask
Except, will you marry me?

So on this fourteenth day of February
I sought your love in my own way
So if you say yes, it would make my day so merry
and with you I’ll always stay
