Forgotten Scars

Forgotten scars

I met an old friend- haven't seen in a while
he wore a strange look on his face....
how you been doing, what's happened to your smile?
He said "it's not the time or place...

Well, I don't need to imagine, all the lies he's heard
(will he believe me-or does he believe her?)
What makes a wise man, believe all that he hears?
Does he forget all he knows? Give into his fears?

Bridge 1
I forgot to remember all the pain
but...it's coming back to me now
Why did she go, and leave me that day?
Some things are still a mystery,
maybe it's better...this way!

Chorus
Though it hurts me to think back,
I don't want to remember
How her lips turned so cold,
that day in December.
She must have forgotten about my heart,
and...how she promised forever
Should I say the truth- say the truth
cut open again...forgotten scars.

Sometimes rumors are so tasty,
swallowed whole while still alive
and...before we realize it,
we're digesting all the lies.

Strange how quickly traitors leave,
without ever giving thanks
Don't believe them, or cash the checks
from their bankrupt memory banks

Bridge 1
I forgot to remember all the pain
but...it's coming back to me now
Why did she go, and leave me that day?
Some things are still a mystery,
maybe it's better...this way!

Chorus
Though it hurts me to think back,
I don't want to remember
How her lips turned so cold,
that day in December.
She must have forgotten about my heart,
and...how she promised forever
Should I say the truth- say the truth
cut open again...forgotten scars.

Should I say the truth- say the truth
cut open again...forgotten scars.
Should I say the truth- say the truth
cut open again...forgotten scars.

repeat and fade
