Forget-Me-Nots

Glossy print 8 by 10 in my hand
look at the figure,
young and awkward.
next to the figure,
older still awkward.
i look at him...his eyes are still gloss,
wandering my face and body with obvious thoughts...
I leave the frozen moment on the wooden desk
other momentous are placed together.
mine are more small and rather forgettable,
simple yet possibly more memorable?
hers are large and dominating, like a reminder.
don't forget me!
don't forget me.
don't forget me...
but I am in the center and she is on the side
and as he pushes me down,
it feels kind of right.
the moon is full as the water rises,
my skin is trembling but he subsides it.
I thought this would make things empty,
but I feel full and I look at him,
and this time he actually looks moved.
We just ramble or I ramble and questions and tease.
We stay silent for a minute then laugh with ease.
We both watch each other and ponder at are thoughts,
and then with a smile we become forget-me-nots.
