Love Poem: Forever Searching

Forever Searching

I planned a trip to take me back to yore
To find the loving days of long ago
Back to all of the friends we used to know
And the familiar sweetness of before.
But there were none who lived there any more,
I could not fin a street with status quo.
Not one thing from those wonder years.
When life was so sublimely without tears.

All vanished with you when you went away,
Those sunny, merry, loving days of old.
The happiness of youth’s not meant to stay,
No more will loving arms ever enfold.
My dearest love, when God took you away
He took the sunshine from my summer day.
