Love Poem: Forever Bound

Forever Bound

Stranded on the road to nowhere
Somewhere between lost and found
Warmth hides its glory
Behind the rain falling down

Looking for the right direction
As I wander farther astray
Pain grips my soul
My heart begins to ache

I've searched every nook and cranny
No help could I find
My very being bleeding
Emotions turned to ice

Chained to the memories
Better left unspoken
I try to summon courage
And yet, bit by bit, I'm broken

Begging for understanding
Yearning what was lost
Trying to reconcile
My actions with the cost

Lonely and afraid
Salvation out of reach
Weary to the bone
As misery invades my peace

Time is the enemy
Love, a fairy tale
Mercy is only make believe
No such thing in Hell

Redeemption hides it's grace
Behind agony and shame
Of mistakes made in haste
And sorrow for what can't be changed

Forgiveness not forthcoming
Anger mars the path
Of love lost in foolishness
And locked, forever, in the past

Dead among the living
Since you walked out on me
Nightmares would be welcome
If only I could sleep

Surrounded by the memories
Of the love, once, we shared
Haunted by the laughter
That still echoes through the air

No where left to turn
No joy to be found
And, it seems, although your gone
To you... I'm forever bound
