Love Poem: For Worth Or For Worse

For Worth Or For Worse

Your words
The way you talk
Can't tell
About your heart's worth.

Many say,
I love you, to take from you
And soon
Turn a cold shoulder to you.

Their face
The way they smile
Can tell
If their words are worthwhile.

Watch for
That crooked smile
Those eyes
With a smirk in their light.

Don't throw
Pearls to swine
They say,
Don't let the thieves, pry.

Patience
Is a virtue
They say,
Wait and see should be a rule.

Be true
To who you are
And give
From the heart.

But hold
Your love for one man or woman
Wait till you find
The one who is your man or woman.
