Love Poem: Fool'D

Fool'D

I lay and interpret
Just who might "you" be.
I can't pray to God
For that "you" to be me.

I wish you would walk
To the road cramped and thin.
And take my right hand
Where the path does begin.

I must stand this distant
From Quarantine's lair.
But stand here I will
Against grayness of hair.

As Jesus did stand
Outside Lazarus' grave
Because he had faith
And deep prayers he gave.

And I'll follow suit
'Till impossible's done.
'Till then there's no gold
Under this loveless sun.

In heavens above
Can this Judge overrule.
But happy I am here
Just playing Love's fool.
