Love Poem: Flying Beneath

Flying Beneath

Tarnished paths, broken trails
A yard seems like forever
Getting tired from one single step
The maze that was made, is clever

Damn the man, who said he can
Without tiring to the load
Makes it simple in his mind
Upon this unremitting road

Tables turn and glass is shattered
He must hurry on his way
For it is the will of the unspoken
Who watches day to day

Several times, it was looked ahead
And seen as light from above
But no one endeavored as the promised words
That had been made from a book of love

Impatience and hatred lie deep in his heart
But the shadow must be conquered
For the moment a craven is sighted by any
The enemy grows slowly, yet stronger

He keeps his footing along the ridge
Overlooking the drop to the canyon floor
Hearing several times in his the back of his mind,
‘Is this worth fighting for?’
