Love Poem: Fluttering Hearts

Fluttering Hearts

The brightest star will one day die
Its light will shine no more
          Even the effervescent butterfly
Will one day fall to the forest floor
Ending the flutter of its reign
         Never to rise again

The love we thought would never end
Had lost its passion over time
Now we have become just friends
     With unspoken words we mime

Our love is like a gypsy that roams the land
Moving to the beat of a distant band
Not having a sense of permanence
    But just a fleeting presence
Our hearts now flutter like the wings of a butterfly
But love's eternal beat will never die
                   -----~~------------
