Flame of Our Love

Our two hearts bonding and becoming complete,
The fear of love makes my mind want to retreat,
It's like an imagined fantasy; bizzare and surreal,
Is my withered heart beginning to heal?
Dreams of finding my one true love,
An envisioned fairy tale that I feel unworthy of,
Can you endure the actions reflected by my pain?
My selfish ego and complete disdain?
I aspire for resolution from my unkempt past,
I believe I shall get there but can you last?
At moments, it seems, I disregard your sweet intentions,
Accept my apologies for I am made of many dimensions,
I can be spiteful and oblivious to it all,
Seperated from feeling by this emotional wall,
Can you endure my scars for they are not few?
For they might also take their toll on you,
Is it worth it? Shall you continue on?
Will your love hold steady or shall it slowly wan?
I hope you can endure this broken life of mine,
For I believe your heart is truly thine,
Be patient, my dear, for the path is long,
Let me sort through the damage and correct my wrongs,
Someday, I shall be deserving of your kind and gentle nature,
Reflecting your attributes and selfless behavior,
I only ask, that until the dawning of that new day,
You let the flame of our love light this darkened way
