First Valentine’s Card

It was the sweetest first romance A love that never stood a chance It was magical, that's the truth Lasting memories are the proof. I was young and so much in love No one knew, only God above Till one fateful Valentine's Day A card arrived, gave it away. Came home from school to a foray My card had been opened, dismay My dear mother was on my side Father's anger I can't describe. I despaired of what I should do So wrote a break up letter to The dear one who I loved so much Telling him to stay out of touch. The message I send plain and clear Is that children shouldn't live in fear If they're shown love, they live content And confide in loving parents.
