Love Poem: Finished

Finished

It seems like only yesterday when your rainbow ceased
The reaper’s blade turned crimson in the struggle for being
Violet droplets forsaken as the final violation struck home
Forgotten the pinks and the mellow the sprite resolution
A life path cut short had tempted the tempest to vanish
Succeeded in your premature harvest of the ultimate act

In the pool of your shadow shone the blues of the past
Now the bleary frost of forlorn redemption festered
No longer as you lay in fine black wattle coffin beneath
Lilac roses in white cotton gown of torn grace

You had wished for no hymns as you felt God would not
Want your bones and your soul had chosen cacophonous
Drums beating funeral’s last tunes instead for the final farewell
Shrieking blasts for a tsunami of tears resolved from your fear
Of never making it to the shore of peacefully passing on

The bleak struggle was finally over the fog gone and absolved
Misty murky drenched clouds of obscurity adorned thorny
Remembrance oozing from the cutting edge of demise

From your heart scraped and incised from cold metal steel
A cut throat message remains delivered on sanguine clots
Of the grief and serrated sorrow that love could not ease the pain
