Love Poem: Final Endeavor

Final Endeavor

I know what I have to do, I know what I have to say,
one final endeavor because my life is in such disarray.

Wanting you to know that being apart from you, I am not myself,
nothing else in this world can make me happy, not even endless wealth.

Can't think straight or be receptive,
doubt and fear make my depressive hallucinations deceptive.

I know I have not made promises to you because I was scared to break them,
and when I felt that I did, I felt condemned.

Living in such misery from the mistakes that I've acknowledged and been made
aware of,
I'm ready to offer you for all eternity, the olive branch bearing dove.

Making a promise to love you forever till the end of my days,
so much love it will shock you, you'll feel like you're in a haze.

To let you live your life with me together and not feel fear,
and that the things that we once shared you'll again hold dear.

To uphold the marital vows that I've destroyed,
that each moment from this day on can be enjoyed.

To raise our daughter together and not just alone,
and give her the love she desires from a father and not a piece of stone.

For you to have the peace of mind in every word that you've spoken to me,
that they will not come back to haunt you when we disagree.

And be there for you in your times of trouble and dismay,
please endorse my plea to you, so that our hearts no longer can be slain.
