Physically, your are this faraway from me
But whenever my longing for you burns white-hot
You are thisclose
I pine for you because you are that far
But whenever you rest your sweet lips against the phone
And I hear...your voice...your breath...your laughter
I smile, for you are suddenly thisnear
In the loneliness of an insufferable twilight
I cry and moan, because you seem this far!
The distance between us wailing into the night like a banshee...
Yet, in spite of it, my precious, I love you even more
