Falling

It was late one night, Many years ago. I felt my heart melting. I didn’t know what was in store. He held my hand in his, And kissed me so gently. I felt like I was a princess. His touch left me so breathless. It happened so long ago. Years have come and gone. I was so very young at heart. He was the man I dreamt of. He told me that I was his girl, And I felt like I was walking on air. Just one more moment with him. My heart belonged in his grasp. It was a blessing from God above. Love that was truly without conditions. Love like this should come first. Before thoughts of marriages or births. He taught me what love was worth, With his kind heart and tender caress. There isn’t a doubt that I want him. It’s with him that I feel I’m my best. It was such a miracle to find him, The one who would bring my heart hope. Falling in love with him seemed like truth, The answer to so much doubt and uncertainty Falling Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Kai Michael Neumann May 24, 2020
