Fallen For An Angel

Apologies Secondhand Serenade in advance
I'm a poor boy with no words to shed of my own
so will you allow me the opportunity to share the world
this small story with borrowed words out of your thoughts
the respect goes to you obviously, without question
I just need a stronger voice to back up my minuscule train of...
With every appearance by you, I'm biting my tongue
how can I let my voice be heard
in a presence so breathtakingly so beautiful
I don't want to say it nor believe it 'til I make the discovery
an angel could walk this very earth in all her stunning glory
Though I can hardly remember
the last time I felt like I do
a vicious tyrant bore this appearance I'm still too shaken
to even compare, to describe, to bring to light
And even in poetry, I lie through my teeth
this world isn't me
because in all reality, honestly
I want to stop this senseless typing
call off this mediocre thing I call the search
shut down this whole system I created for myself
scream from a rooftop on the tallest building
for the mightiest echo
so it can reach your delicate ears
I finally found someone like me, a whole universe mirroring mine
a glimmering twilight colliding with the rising moon
Sometimes I feel like I've won
but this isn't a competition, I'm aware
so I don't know what that feeling is
yet I revel in it just the same
I have questions, so many questions
'How did you find me through these 7 billion people'
'I'm just a face in the crowd but how is it
you found me on this separated island'
'How did you...'
I just know I'm glad I'm with you, so lost without you
It's only the first day but I'm swept up in your waves
I've fallen for an angel named....you
