Love Poem: Faces

Faces

My life is slowly leaking out, i've patched myself with hate.

Bland excitement fills the room but i only take up empty space.

I wander darkened alleyways to find my restless fate yet shadows thin upon my glance,
retreat into their place. Faces materialize and take a look then flee from sight forever... They sense the flow of energy, they see my burning eyes.

I once allowed myself to stare into a mirror for hours and lost in a world my vision failed and
iris turned to window. Within the bright and golden circle i found my only solace; an eye which
penetrated deeply but on its own side hallow.

The words were written clear as day, a faint illumination cleared the way, i checked my logic,
hung up my coat of teachings i had never learned.

The checker nodded silently knowing what i wanted, again i bowed my head and said, "no
need this time the means will do.” A knowing glance yet no advice for nothing could have
changed my mind

I stepped into the room at last and closed the door behind me.

The time stood still yet hands advanced and passed away my options. I tied my mind to soul
and body, a raft of floating passions, and once the clock had struck it's chord again the door
was opened.

The checker handed me my coat and shoved me violently to the street. There they were
again the faces, blinding me with darkness. I stepped aside and caught my breath as my eyes
acclimated, my breathing slowed and in that moment I knew my fate had answered.

But still i wander alone yet warmed by burning green and blue... which rips apart the shadows
in my path.
