Love Poem: Facade

Facade

I am lost, wondering what's to come
Only a dead end in sight
Come on, turn red to a green light
Looking in even the sharpest turns
Seeking the one, the only one, I've ever loved so much

Why should I have to hide behind a façade?
If I take it off, you would never want me
Anyone would take the cheerleader over the nerd any day
I've been keeping it up, can I get my pay?

If I drop my alter ego, would you still love me?
I'll break it in a second and I won't be sorry
I don't wanna hide anymore, never wanted to
Don't need to be a size two, don't need clothes brand new
People should like me for who I am

Yawning, I'm tired, but not 'cause of what you think
Tired of empty promises in the fools full hands
But curious, curious of what I don't know
Can I, can I take the wheel
And stabilize the critics land

Why should I have to hide behind a façade?
If I take it off, you would never want me
Anyone would take the cheerleader over the nerd any day
I've been keeping it up, can I get my pay?

If I drop my alter ego, would you still love me?
I'll break it in a second and I won't be sorry
I don't wanna hide anymore, never wanted to
Don't need to be a size two, don't need clothes brand new
People should like me for who I am

Let the walls come down
Let the haters drown

If I drop my alter ego, would you still love me?
I'll break it in a second and I won't be sorry
I don't wanna hide anymore, never wanted to
Don't need to be a size two, don't need clothes brand new
People should like me for who I am
