Love Poem: Eyes That Melt Winter

Eyes That Melt Winter

Young were our hands that felt every quiver
as we fell over the edge of romantic deep sighs
where ephemeral soft stokes from your long hair
exposed our soul's emotional disguise

Prisoners of love as sensual beings
words we played with from our love's tongue
whispered in dim light without any shadows
we surrendered warm kisses beneath the sun

Our life's trail of footprints left in the ground
a winding path that would never splinter
guided us to days of gray years we found
filled with love's eyes that always melt Winter

Old wrinkled hands that shake and quiver
and blessed by a love that has never known sorrow
time is now spent remembering yesterday's wanderings
where we measure time by another tomorrow
