Love Poem: Expectancy

Expectancy

Another day with those from past
Another look
Another word
Take an image
Become another.
It's not you they want
You don't fit the bill.
Without a payment they desire possession
Ownership comes at a cost to others
But at no cost to the possessor.
Thoughts and impressions based on desires
Desires born out of images planted
Truth has been corrupted
Reality is no more
A dream has replaced reality
The eyes can no longer see
And the mind conceives only dreams.
The whip comes out
It's disguised as reason
Words come forth as bitterness
Sweet comfort is found in sarcasm.
Possession comes at a price
The expense is born by others
It must be paid!
Demands are made and they MUST be met!
Love exists with her hostile neighbours
Confusion through bitter-sweet
Draw from the well both fresh and salt water
And bring forth from rivers both life and death!
