Love Poem: Eve and Adam

Eve and Adam

“Close your eyes, Adam”,
But he didn’t understand,
“Cover with your hand”,
Insisted the first woman.

“I don’t enjoy this game”,
Said he, “you try to bemuse,
Choose other or I will refuse”,
Unable to see Eve’s shame,

“This is not seek and hide,
Stay on the same place,
Don’t let me see your face
Nor come by my side”,

He curled starting to weep,
Lips trembling – the first tear
The first woman’s scorn, the first fear
He didn’t wanted to keep,

“All right, we will try again,
Maybe we create a new play,
You hunt and I do as you say
I rather not see you in pain”,

Eve didn’t shun his embrace,
Parting tenderly his hair;
his lap used like a chair,
Smiling with newfound grace,

And Adam remained quiet
With Eve on his strong arms,
“No other toy has your charms”
giving on her fruit a keen bite.
