Love Poem: Eve

Eve

Naked in the garden,
Where the fruit hung, so bright and strange.
We sat together beneath the shade,
Waiting for something to change.

I plucked the fruit from off of the tree,
And stood with my hands on my hips.
Bent down to grin into your face,
Then put the forbidden against my lips.

O, my savage lover—
I bit into the most sensual bliss.
And with the flame in my temptress eyes,
I drew you into my kiss.

Now we can never shake the epiphany,
Nor can we fall back into the sky.
But if I were to ever call us a mistake,

You’d know it’d be a lie.
