Love Poem: Escapade

Escapade

You held me once, the last ripe mango on the tree
We danced, the wind played love songs in moonlight
I held you, the petal priming the waggling bee
Something in kiss so sensuous flowered us with delight.

Our footsteps pressed upon the naked skin of sand
Wrote promises transistory as your fallen memory
And the tree that's there, scarred by my weary hand
Still have a heart and your sweet name on its history

I go down to the sea sometimes to read and to wait
To sigh while the willows cry, and dance alone there
Loyalty is a painful virtue, only lovers can truly hate -
The sea's bare bosom rise and fall slowly to my stare.
