Love Poem: Entwined

Entwined

They were so in love
with each other,
that their love became magical.

They were able to levitate,
speak with each other's thoughts,
know each other's feelings from far,
and glow in the moonlight.

The village-folk didn't see
that as love;
they saw it as sorcery.

"Burn them at the stake!"
the crowd cried in unison.

To the stake they were cast-
the stake smelt of oil and death.
A fire was lit, but didn't
stop them from embracing each other.

As the fire reached their feet,
their bodies slowly glowed,
slowly turning into a gigantic glow,
then disappearing!

The villagers,
frightened to the core
of their marrows,
dropped the folks and hoes
and ran into their houses
to lock themselves.

Little did they know the lovers
had become part and parcel
of Love itself....
