Love Poem: Enticement

Enticement

Over his shoulder
Behind his shadow
Shielded
She was
From yesterday’s
Fear.

Trembling hands
Reached round
Embracing
The man he was
To think her dear.

Enticed she was
She touched his heart
with just a sigh--
a whisper
his name--
that breathed
forever
love

Humble he was
To doubt his power
The power of love
That bound her close
Softly she sang--
Spring shades of flowers--
The sweetest notes
He’d ever heard.
