Empty Spaces

There is a void in between The moment when my eyes blink And the moment when I see The beauty that thrives In front of me, like a dream There is a vacuum between The moment I visit sleep And the moment I awake To take on a new dawn, a new Day where I will seek relief From the nightmares that Remind me when I dream It isn’t always hope and peace Sometimes sleep brings Anxiety and distress A feeling of hopelessness Yet I am blessed With assurance that this void Will eventually pass by me And I’ll move on to better moments When the heart is soothed The soul isn’t shadowed And life itself is enlightened Hallowed, filled with grace from The One who shows love Beyond measure, beyond words Love that is forever, eternal A living hope and prayer Lighting up the very air Love like this is love that I cherish Void Poetry Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker August 1, 2021
