Emmanuel

EMMANUEL

Emmanuel, foretold by prophets long before He came
Emmanuel, His is the name above all names
He came down from His glory in Heaven
To save man from sin was the mission He was given

He was Born of a virgin in Bethlehem Town
On the night He was born, God's glory came down
His birth was heralded by angels on high
Who spoke of good will, their voices filled the sky

Shepherds left their flocks in the Judean hills alone
To see what an angel to them had made known
They found the Baby in a manger just as the angel said
They left glorifying God, and the Good News was widely spread

At twelve, he amazed the elders with questions yet unasked
He later told His parents He was doing His Father's task
At the age of thirty He began to preach, to teach, and heal the lame
He worked miracles, raised the dead, He gained tremendous fame

The religious leaders became enraged, His death they did decide
They convinced a Roman official that He should be crucified
Emmanuel, God with us, freely gave His life for me
The day He died on Mount Calvary while nailed upon a tree

The third day He rose from the grave, to Heaven did ascend
Seated at the right hand of God, He soon will come again
He'll take those home to glory who came to believe in Him
For those who are not ready, their future is gravely dim

Emmanuel, Lord and Savior, Good Shepherd and Messiah
Will judge mankind for Heaven or the lake of fire
Which place will be your destiny – choose wisely today
Welcome good and faithful servant you'll hear your Savior say

Emmanuel, Emmanuel, we praise You for Your Love
We worship You, and adore You Lord in Heaven above
Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega, You are King of Kings
The saints will forever praise You and make Heaven's portals ring
