Embers

Within the embers of this night a memory lives on of a time when the sun rose, lighting up my world and all, because of you; Summers of our past linger in my mind as winter comes anew; I recall the fireplace talks and sweet surrenders, of our blessed union; You came to me, a sweet vision of something long sought never did I think I could ever hold someone like you, in fond embrace; This reverie born in spring endures through every season these dreams remained in the realm of grace, so did our sacred love; When the dawn arises to shed light upon the room, I am left with the reality you left me...far, far too soon.
