Elusive Love

I look for you in a mist gray and thick
Swirling and spilling beyond my fingertip.
Gently in my dreams you pirouette and glide
Leaving a trail of glitter as I peacefully smile.

Waking contented I feel happy and warm
Remembering your dance out on the moor.
In a garden where roses show off their bloom
A faint fragrance wafts upon your trail of tulle.

In the sunshine certainly you cannot escape
But your shadow upon the wind does race.
I seek you then on a bright moonlit eve
Hoping to catch you upon the surly breeze.

Why do you elude me while I search in vain
Is it your pleasure when you see my pain?
Show yourself and come sit with me soon
For it is the lack of you that makes me swoon.
