Effervescence

"conjoined with the whole
we play our life role
exuding a scent
granting love consent"
_______________________

Conjoin me in God’s divine love
and fill me with an effervescence,
that I can fizzle with fervor
for doing good to others with unceasing zest.
This, I believe is the role and call of my life.

Make me a flower, delicate and sweet,
exuding redolent scent into the blowing breeze,
pouring joy into distressed hearts.

I wish to be made into a violin, from whose strings,
dulcet tune flows to soothe the ailing nerves.

How I wish to be a rain cloud,
sailing over the breadth and length of skies
showering cooling droplets on to thirsting mouths.

Fill me with an effervescence that I get ignited as a lamp
dispersing beams of light,
dissipating darkness from the mazy depths of gloom.

Make me a vessel full with love to pour out
into the empty pitchers.
Make me a barge with sails filled by the wind
that I can ferry the sinking souls
to safer shores of life.

Let every atom in me throb with an effervescence
and let it eject forth in jets to form a gushing stream.

In God’s grand design, each one is a part
forming a composite whole, together in harmony
So, is it not incumbent on our part to share and partake
in God’s never ceasing reservoir of love!
