Echoes of Goodbye

We met in the shadow of sorrow’s gentle arms,
Two souls adrift, drawn together by chance
Not written in stars, but etched in passing days
Where laughter flickered, and longing danced.

We shared a season, brief as a breath,
Bittersweet moments, snapshots of joy
Against the backdrop of what was lost,
Each smile tinged with a tender ploy.

Your presence, a comfort in uncertain hours,
A warmth that lingered, even as time slipped past;
We built a haven from fragments and wounds,
Shaped not for forever, but still meant to last.

Yet, as dawn follows night, the truth unfurled
We were each other’s refuge, not destiny’s decree.
Our hearts, once intertwined for healing’s sake,
Found release in acceptance, love setting us free.

So I treasure that chapter, vivid and small,
A fleeting connection worth more than we knew
A story of loss, of finding, of letting go,
Of gratitude blooming where sadness once grew.
