Love Poem: Ebony Eyes

Ebony Eyes

As golden summer flies,
I reminisce a time we were spies.
In love and intrigue were we allies;
Oh, how I miss my Ebony Eyes!

Bound tightly together in that world of allure,
Motives certain-future unsure;
There, through dark dangers, to reassure,
Deep in the shadows, my paramour!

Love was a smile, a touch, a first glance,
An encounter unplanned-perchance.
Under starry skies of secret romance,
Was wonder, mystery and extravagance.

Through circumstances of our own creation,
We tried to love our nation.
How I remember the sensation
Of love's sweet liberation!

"Be true," is the phrase that applies.
At thoughts of him, my heart sighs.
Dreams alight, like wings of butterflies!
Oh, how I miss my Ebony Eyes.
