Easy Don'T Come Easy

Easy don't come easy.

When I think back to what we had,
It breaks my heart and makes me sad,
Not because we said goodbye,
Just because we didn't try.

A love that's true is worth the fight,
Not just let it drift from sight,
The love we shared is all too rare,
Even with it's wear and tear.

Cause easy don't come easy,
A tough old road for us to face,
Let's stand together undivided,
Take my hand, let's run our race

Sofa cuddles with snacks at hand,
Watching films we didn't understand,
Talking bout how our days have been,
What we've done and what we've seen.

Dance floor movers we stole the stage,
When we got home we felt our age,
Leaving notes for the start of day,
Sharing love in our special way.

.Cause easy don't come easy,
A tough old road for us to face,
Let's stand together undivided,
Take my hand, let's run our race

The twilight years all mapped and planned,
Holidays on golden sand,
Takeaways or Sunday roast,
Right down to having beans on toast.

But best of all and so much more,
True love is what people saw,
The hand was dealt we should have stuck,
Instead we gambled and pushed our luck.

Cause easy don't come easy,
A tough old road for us to face,
Let's stand together undivided,
Take my hand, let's run our race

Tears and laughter come our way,
Along with words we shouldn't say,
But good or bad we cant deny,
The love we have would never die.

It's not too late to make amends,
We have family and we have friends,
We both deserve another chance,
To take the floor and dance the dance.

Cause easy don't come easy,
A tough old road for us to face,
Let's stand together undivided,
Take my hand, let's run our race.
