Early Evening
early evening delights
my favorite time of time
is early evening
between 5 pm and 8 pm
every night
cocktail hour
time for a glass of wine
or other cocktail
with my best friend, my wife
and we sip wine
and make dinner
and talk about the day
and make plans
but most importantly
just enjoy
each other’s company
as we have for 38 years
as the day
turns into the night
and we prepare
to end the day
we are both aware
of how much
we still love each other
ever since the day we met
and that makes
all the difference
in the world to us
I’ll drink to that!
