Dying Slowly

Here i am
There you are
Where are we?

The static hurts my ears
The same through all these years
Everything has changed
But something is the same

How can i go on?
A heartless shell of i
Stolen by your light
The darkness' drawing nigh
Without you in my life
I would rather die

Here, it's now
Though i war against the present
And the hollow future

Ice age coming
Filled with sorrow and regret
Time is running out
Is it over yet?

On the spot
Now
I try to count the blessings that I've got
But your curse is haunting me
And i'm thankful for your ghost
What would i do without you?
How could i ever see?

If i have one regret
It's doing you wrong
Never should have left
I tried to make amends
Only my failure succeeds
I miss you so, old friend
I would die for you, again
I love you more than me

MAYbe you're right
In all the wrong ways
Or maybe it's me
Or maybe it's just life
But i cannot seem to see
The good that came from this
I know we've grown apart
But somehow
I know
We're still connected

maybe it's just something more than we can comprehend
maybe, someday, we both will understand

I will see you in the next life...
