Love Poem: Dreams Die Young

Dreams Die Young

His fingers graced the pure white skin of her face
She was blinded by the tears surfacing on her eyes,
This way of parting was one which she had never conjured
A love once there now consumed by fate
Displaced by years of separation
His head tilted downward,
His muddied brown eyes could never look upon her again
She knew this,
She sensed it from the time they parted ways
It was inevitable,
They would never find a parallel place in their lives,
During which they would wed
They shared a passion for one another,
One which had dissolved with time,
Dreams died with their youth.
