Love Poem: Dream Lover

Dream Lover

Before I met her
I was just
a broken-winged bird
that could not fly

It was
forever night
I could not
see the stars

Now I can
dream my words
write the words
that I dream

She is the dream
that came true
we live
in each others dreams

Dream lover
lies sleeping
in Summer slumber
wrapped in tender night

Soft Spanish Moss
is her pillow
the twilight lingers
in her dreamy eyes

My young lover
lies dreaming
perfect moonlight
silently dances

I touch her hand
smell her hair
night stillness
rests in her palms

Morning comes
curtains open
the scent of Magnolia
young lover

Nestles next to me
I kiss
her warm
delicious breath

So falls Summer
my young love
cuddles me
the room fills with morning..
