Don'T Leave Me Behind
Remote whispers echo in the night;
aspiring for company.
Dawn emerges silently thru a tear in
my shade.
The abating sunrise beckons my breath
and eases my soul; but the ache
in my heart lingers still.
Alone I sit, ignoring daylight; hiding
in my shadow.
Disregarding what to be true and
holding on to complete emptiness.
Tomorrow is no surprise it starts all
over again without concession;
yet today I leave a part of me, unwillingly.
Struggling to secure patience eludes me.
My mind flits occasionally, determined
to evade.
Like tumbling stones, I climb to the peek
and fall to depths out of control.
Loneliness is the word I speak facing
days to fulfillment.
Promises last forever
in eternal space.
Captured by emotions
your stunning grace.
Visions of your smile
your tender embrace
last only awhile.
Don’t leave me behind
find me a place.
