Do What You Can

Silver and gold have I none; nor even stocks and bonds;
Moreover, many things of little value, I have a ton. Material possessions are welcomed; but they tend not to last for long. Trivialities and such things don't always bring us fun. From hurtful things causing us pain, we tend to run.
Most times, our eyes are bright, clear, and dry.
Moreover, many things of little value, I have a ton.
Sometimes, our eyes fill with water, and then we cry.

Let's build our bridges strong until the day is done.
What we offer is often not quite good enough. But we give it anyway, because sharing our lives is a must.
Often, our hearts are hard as stone and look like rust.

But let's cease from judging others, and learn how to trust.
Some of our foundations are brittle; our beliefs are fragile. Be gentle with each other; otherwise it's rather futile.

None of us walks as well as we desire or should. Many fall down, having done the best we could.
We all may not learn to talk, walk, sit, or stand. But we must all join together hand in hand.
If we do not, we will simply sink into the sand. We must live and learn to see eye to eye, or die man to man.
United as one, we must stand face to face; or divided we fall, Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
