Love Poem: Discarded

Discarded

Alone and unwanted, I sit on the floor,
Discarded like a toy, I stare at the door.
Praying for someone to come and rescue me,
Praying for someone to set me free.

Free from this pain, free from this heartache,
It feels like my chest has been pierced with a stake.
I was good enough for one night,
But apparently not worth the fight.

Forgotten as easily as last week's news,
Unappreciated, like your old, abandonned muse.
Lost and confused like a wandering child,
Staring blankly, eyes glaring wild.

You used me just to please yourself,
Left your heart up on the shelf.
You act like you're better, superior to me,
But you're the one who'se broken and empty.
