Devotion Poem, Paradise. (For Jim) Dare I say — We feel marvelously sculpted to fit, Our hugs mold their moments Into wishing to last forever. Dare I say — my silent hopes Rise into the liquid Moonlit blue above our kisses, Wanting to make millions of dozens. Dare I tell the truth of how My heart speaks out to you Whenever we separate? That somehow Physics moves you into two: to the elsewhere You travel, yet still always here by me. Dare I utter the new quantum rules of love? How starlit galaxies hide in your eyes To all except for me. How our waltz moves on Through the juggled dimensions we cling to. May I sing for others what our hearts Keep in whispers? How to sense paradise In the gift of your devoted spirit Always awaiting close, holding the secret Blessings of divine starlight in your pockets. Dare I share the jewels of this love, That they may be found and more easily kept? Or, Might the vast variations of paradise await Their own finding and defining, like rainbows With their hidden treasures. —————————————————————————————————————————— (c) sally young eslinger 8/22-25/22
