Love Poem: Departure

Departure

You hold me for the first time
So the rain wouldn’t drench
Inside my wounds.
You look perplexed,
You’re shaking
And you flush.
Your eyes are wet
With shock.
It’s late… you know I have to go…
It’s late… lights are muted in my stare.
And you search for me,
Inside my own blood,
Inside my mouth,
Trying to catch another kiss…
You take in the thought
Of never seeing me again…
I’m never coming back…
I’m gone, buried in your hurt.
I’ve crossed far beyond the sky,
And further than our love.
I’m no longer here,
Don’t look for me in these skies.
