Love Poem: Denial

Denial

Let's pretend we never existed
there was no "us"
there was no spark
nor fire, that nothing was just

Let's pretend there was no first kiss
No lips in lips,
Massaging of tongue tips
And hands sliding from wrists
bags from hands slipping
Falling...
Hearts giving,
body friction,
chests beating,
moving!
to the same rhythm
Let's pretend
this moment never had meaning

Let's pretend we weren't compatible
Pretend my arms couldn't go well around your
body
Pretend our hugs had no chemistry,
Our kisses had no electricity,
Our sex had no fire
Our hearts had no desire
For unity...

Pretend that it was just about the sex, the
status
That I never noticed your glow
That it was in, out and go
We could pretend that we grew closer
But never took it
Slow...

Let's pretend your appearance mattered
If your hair was straight or curly
Whether you were thick or thin
How wide your back was
how flat your chest is
Let's pretend I never cared
which direction your mouth concaved in

I might as well pretend I never knew you
If I have to deny your worth,
Simply because I lost you
If I have to deny your beauty,
Simply because I cannot see you
If I have to deny what you meant to me
Simply because you are not mine
Then nothing will be fine
