Love Poem: Degrees of Separation

Degrees of Separation

Flash, and cries the jetliner strobe
that flickered the fraying hem
of some patron saint of torture's robe.
Lips cannot kiss the unravel,
make wishes of the tapestry fade,
crack degrees of separation stole of travel.
Unwinding, endless over land lock
distant prisons evolve the cell
and we cannot turn back the clock.
Wait, for night must fall,
and with it sinks my heart, for instances with you
would in joyous yield surrender all.
