Love Poem: Dear Lilly

Dear Lilly

I...,
I honestly don't know why I'm writing this,
Between the fact that you're sleeping beside me, along with being blind,
It would seem pretty silly of me to make this sentimental gesture as opposed to a simple goodnight kiss,
I suppose this letter is more for me then, rather than for you,
I could read it aloud to you when you wake up,
But considering how dumb and rambly this is turning out perhaps I'll just keep this out of view,
Of course you "seeing" it wouldn't be a problem considering...,
Ah no no no let me get back on track and for lack of a better word, pour my heart out,
I love you Lilly,
I love you beyond any second thoughts or shadows of a doubt,
And though my fragile heart lies weak and withered,
You have renewed my lease on life,
Lifting me up from the clutches of despair with an angelic tether,
You became m North star, my golden compass, my beloved wife,
With you my dreams come to life,
Not shallow images of three-dimensions,
But of those dwelling beyond the realm of sight,
High above in the clouds of the heavens,
From which your angelic voice coos when you greet me in the morning,
Or the sound of the wind rustling through your hair like a field of golden wheat,
Or your hands of silk when you caress my cheek,
To think only a few years ago I was lying in a hospital bed,
Now I'm gazing out of our first home's window with you instead,
I hope these words will convey my love,
If my actions ever fail,
For whenever I ascend to the skies above,
I will find you again,
This I swear,

To Lilly,
My heart, my love, my everything.
