Love Poem: Dear Daughter,
Aarushi Pandey Avatar
Written by: Aarushi Pandey

Dear Daughter,

If you are reading this,
I want you to know
How you changed my life
How you lighten up my world
with your beautiful hazel eyes.
Your footprints on the cement
Your cute clever smile
And the way you used to ask me
to make your project files.

I still remember,
You used to gift me purple Orchids
Because it was your favorite.
You loved to see how a bird made her nest
My girl, you were really the best.

And then suddenly, everything changed.
Never did I imagine,
That my daughter had to face this.
You stopped going to parties
You stopped doing hangouts.
Medicines, chemo and you started
SCREAMING so loud.
You loved me very much
But you stopped showing it.
You cared for me very much
But you stopped showing it.

And finally, one day,
You left me.
You went to some other beautiful world.
You left me alone, heartbroken
You left with all the moments
We had together.
I want you to see that,

I STILL REMEMBER
your painted face,
Your deepest secrets
Your favourite place,
And all your regrets.

DEAR DAUGTHER,
I am always so sad.
Because there is nobody to say
"I LOVE YOU TOO DAD"
.
