Dead End Truth

I’m not one for sad stories
Eulogies and earthquakes
Feel the tremor
Feel the shiver
Feel it all come crashing
Replaying it like a bad movie
Written in the pages of history
our names are to familiar with devastation
Hurricanes rummage through stuff like it’s all
A bad joke, like this night the stars
Wanted a good twinkle
At my expense so the clouds
Rumbled and cheered
And the rain pattered on and on
This ceremony, this war dance between
A cold heart and a broken one
One will come out changed
One will come out dead
Funerals aren’t for the dead they say
It’s for those living
Walking alone as the world dances on
And a realization comes
The earth is a stage
And we each have our tragedy
